Talk Audio – Bass? SQ? What’s Your Fetish?

You know if you don’t fill out the profile thing on the Talk Audio Forum correctly with your D.O.B. it doesn’t wish you a happy birthday on the bottom of the vBulletin thing? Mine came around and there I was, unremarked. Muh! So I posted a whingey thing and had it explained to me in words of one syllable by the clever chaps on the internetz. I did however get a birthday wish from two forums I have not been back to in months after starting fights of such size with so few words, I can truly be labelled as  a Troll. That and the Shrek-like physique (And demeanour. Webmaster) There were other notable birthdays, Corrie, Donny Osmond on the same day and the BoomZilla artist Julian Sewell and the forum’s favourite mad woman, CrazyChick. (Although her most startling stuff is in Members Only.)
The family grotto now has stupefying silly amounts of lights that are spinning the electricity meter until it whines and the car has the Tim Reeves designed LED 12V fairy lights now installed. I also omitted telling you about a mad event I went to with Alcosense, so I’ll write that up in the news. It involved dinner at Heston Blumenthal’s pub and a night on an island in the Thames, getting seriously smashed and then being breathalysed in the morning.
I will get the daylight artists’ lamp thing out and do some vids to artificial illumination as I have been waiting for a decent afternoon to shoot one by daylight and they haven’t been along, so I might come over all Peter Jackson and do three back to back for publishing over Christmas. There’s the big bass tube, stuff from new brand Armageddon and the MTX square nephew of JackHammer subwoofer.
I have come over all excited about ZigBee technology and thought it might garner me a ticket to the CES but while I now have a bit of editorial to do in Home Cinema Choice about it, it’s clear that GreenPeak are a big old chip company and while they are spending budget on publicising their benefits to devices with the tech on board, they ‘sell’ to the likes of Sony, Matsushita (Panasonic) and JVC – biiiig outfits. But it’s cool tech for home use and could be the future of remote control competition units in dB Drag and so forth.
I have had an exciting meeting with Mike Morris, president of Diamond Audio and Cerwin Vega and his colleague Bob Chanthavongsa (try reading it out loud, I can…) wherein it was mooted that TA should be a Transatlantic entity.
But lots to be catching up with, so here’s to a busy pre Christmas fortnight!
