New Pioneer Multimedia Players

Pioneer GB introduces five brand new multimedia receivers that have been designed to enhance your in-car entertainment experience. The new range is able to deliver the highest quality audio and video playback from your CD’s, DVD’s, SD cards and USB sticks. This makes it even easier to enjoy your music, films and photos whether you have a single DIN or a double DIN unit within your car.
The new range also incorporates Bluetooth wireless technology and the ability to connect your iPod or iPhone, so you can play your favourite music with album artwork displayed. The AVH product series consists of three double DIN units, the AVH-3200DVD, AVH‑3200BT and AVH-P4200DVD, and two single DIN models, AVH-5200DVD and AVH‑5200BT. The single DIN unit has a convenient pop-out screen which slides away neatly, providing a nifty way to enjoy your media played on screen, without the need for a double DIN aperture in your car.
All models are equipped with a new intuitive graphical user interfaces and large LCD touch screens which makes these units easy to control. On top of this a customisable menu, choice of button illumination and a variety of background design allows you to perfectly match your system to your car interior or your general mood!
“People spend a lot of time in their car, so we have tried to make the in car experience even more enjoyable,” said Tom Van Biervliet, Manager Product Planning Car Audio, Pioneer Europe. “Pioneer’s new AVH series multimedia receivers transform the car into a complete multimedia hub, enabling consumers to seamlessly integrate many of the most popular portable devices. This integration enhances the capabilities of the Pioneer unit while allowing the portable device to be controlled with the Pioneer user interface, which is specifically designed for in-car use.”

Advanced iPod and iPhone1 integration
iPod/iPhone Direct Control allows consumers to control their portable device directly from their Pioneer AVH head unit. By connecting your iPod directly to the receiver’s USB terminal, you will have access to all the content stored on the iPod, which you can select using the head unit’s easy to use touch screen. With ABC search it’s possible to quickly search through lists of artists, albums and songs by scrolling alphabetically using the first letter in the name whilst your iPod/iPhone will charge while it’s connected.
Connectivity
Each unit features built-in connectivity to USB storage devices2, Secure Digital (SD) memory cards, and devices with mini-jack AV outputs to provide media playback for a range of portable storage devices.
The integrated Parrot Bluetooth3 module available with the AVH-3200BT and AVH-5200BT models means you can enjoy hands-free communication while you travel. Bluetooth is also available on the AVH-P4200DVD with the addition of an optional Pioneer Bluetooth Adapter.
The 2010 AVH series multimedia receivers are NavGate ready, which allows users to enhance their AV system with fast and precise navigation capabilities by connecting Pioneer’s add on AVIC-F220 NavGate upgrade unit. The AVIC-F220 is a compact, detachable add-on system that provides full turn-by-turn navigation and compatibility with Pioneer’s AVIC Feeds software.
Customisation
Each model offers a wide range of customisation options, for those who want to add a personal touch to their in-car system. Users can choose from a multitude of screen and button colours to perfectly match their dashboard lighting. Five pre-set screen and button colours are available, while custom colours can also be created for the button illumination using the RGB colour selector.
A customisable background feature provides users with the choice of four pre-loaded wallpapers, three background visuals, or the ability to import your own JPEG images from a CD-ROM, USB storage device, or SD card to personalise your in car entertainment system.
Video
These new systems offer playback of iPod video, DVD and DivX video content. Users can also display JPEG images4 during music playback, similar to the slideshow feature commonly found on digital picture frames.
Sound
Audio output for each player is enhanced by Pioneer’s MOSFET5 50 W x 4 amplification, 4-Volt pre-amp outputs, High-Pass/Low-Pass crossovers for subwoofer integration and Pioneer’s patented Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) which restores the musical details lost in the creation of compressed music files. With the 8-band Graphic Equaliser (GEQ) the audio can be tuned to one’s personal taste, whereas the Auto Equaliser enables automatic tailoring of the sound to the car (CD-MC20 microphone required). In addition, each AVH series receiver features Pioneer’s Sonic Centre Control, which adjusts the timing of selected speakers to shift the sonic centre of the system to a specific area of the car, further improving the sound experience for your in car enjoyment.
