More CES Goodness: Kicker, Alpine and Earthquake
More hot news from the very leading edge of In Car Technology. Mike Organ reporting…in between racing go-karts with real needle. It was Car Audio & Security, Versus Bass Junkies, Versus Car Audio Direct:
Earthquake showed their existing range of heavy duty woofers and a slammed demo car (plus a large range of Home AV) but also had a new range of affordable amplifiers on show.
Kicker seemed to show a large emphasis on their growing home range with headphones and iPod docks all taking centre stage. However they did also show their new ultra-compact stackable class D full range amplifier models.
Alpine took their usual position off of the North Hall with a dedicated room. It was all white and hyper minimalist and felt very “hi-tech” as you progressed through, the final treat was a demo car of utter beauty!
Many of the US products will not make these shores with Sirius radio and Pandora features, however we may see the newly launched X Power series affodable amplifiers that have many design features of the more costly PDX range.
Alpine also showed a new range of improved Type R speakers and some ultra slim woofers.
Star of the show for TA readers will be the new EQ with Imprint and full manual setup possible, complete with optical inputs. It also has an optional full control module with biolite (OEL or OLED)animated display. Pictures include the specifications to drool over
There’s a bit more to report and that’ll be in the next story…….
