Wilkommen BLAUPUNKT!!!!

Fabelhaft und Toll! Wunderbar und Richtig! Blaupunkt is NOT dead! Rumours of the demise of the legendarily solid and well designed European brand are entirely premature and Autosound, the DaddyBus Boys of Bradford have the UK helm now as distributors of all Blaupunkt product, car included.
If you have ever been in a posh bus, then you have seen and or listened to Blaupunkt’s 24 Volt coach stuff, often with a PA function for the courier in the funny front jump seat. For the Germans are kings of the ‘˜Reisen Am Bus’ and you get these huge pantechnicons with absurd levels of luxury even sleeper seats that convert at night including lots and lots of AV kit, that Germans go off on their hols inside. The best look like double deckers but are all about huge luggage holds and super comfy interiors. And these need quality ICE. (In COACH Entertainment, geddit?) so engendering a healthy market for bus audio.
Now, in the UK, we don’t have buses quite like that. (OK, bar a few National Express beasts) We reach up as far as the ones with tables in and yes, lots and lots do have audio, TVs and announcer PA as standard. Thus if you ever rode in one in England or mainland Europe, then you were almost certain to have had Blaupunkt kit in it and in a UK owned bus it would have been installed by Autosound in Bradford.
As things changed in how Blaupunkt was run and owned in Germany and the UK, the product designers stayed as the guys responsible for the products’ progress and Autosound became the UK home of both bus and car audio products’ distribution.
Lee Fergus of Autosound said, ‘The future’s bright, the future’s Bluespot! Autosound are delighted to now be associated with Talk Audio and look forward to getting the brand back in front of the key end users’.
All of which means that the famous brand, the one that used to sponsor our own Talk Audio SPL league, is now back on board as a Talk Audio Site Associate.
We are going to get some stuff in to review and give it a good pull-through!
I like the look of their new special edition amp – Proof Of Life if ever I saw it, seen here:

and that wheel-well subwoofer looks worth a suck on. Here:

I also want to cop an ear of their best compos, as Blaupunkt are quietly a bit brilliant at speakers, what with being German-engineered and allbut we’ll see what they send over. Meanwhile a huge Welcome Back from the Talk Audio community and here’s to checking out some more of the stuff from Blaupunkt.
If you want to go see their direct sales site the links above are pages form it, but the front page is here:
