Week Fifteen: In which Gadget Show Live, Fusion & EMMA Kick Off!

It is finally That Week! Yes, Gadget Show Live is being held the NEC and yes, once again on press day, shall I be striped for the parking! (at least it hasn’t gone up from £8!) Chuffed to be going as a pressman this time, as last year, working for Future publishing on the Pioneer theatre stand, meant I simply didn’t get to see much of the rest of the show. A good few mobile electronics firms are exhibiting, albeit often alongside all their other corporate offerings, since the show covers such a madly wide range of products. (I never ‘˜got’ how you can call a bicycle a ‘˜Gadget’) And Pioneer’s one is ubercoolio, with their DJ stuff and all
It’s also the week when the EMMA sound off scene goes North to Oulton Park so that Round Two can be an attraction at Modified Live, with my huge self in attendance to report, film and announce the winners.
But there’s another lovely phat piece of news to relate as well, which is that the kazillions of Fusion car audio owners out there who were feeling a little unloved and lonely lately, without any new Fusion stuff coming along, nor any real presence in the shops anymore, as the brand had been between distributors, can now rejoice! For Fusion UK are the newest Talk Audio Site Associates and like the lovely Blaupunkt people who jumped on board last week, will be advertising on the boards and magazine. Expect to see some of their kit going through to review mill in due course.
So a happy tale of growth for Talk Audio, as times get tougher in what is undeniably a shrinking industry, the Alpines, Blaupunkts, Clarions, Dynamats, Earthquakes, Fusions and all the way down the alphabet to Pioneers, still reckon that Talk Audio is the place to be active.
Kinda makes you feel good.
