Week Seventeen: In Which Iceman Has A Birthday.

Easter Monday just gone was the umpteenth birthday of Ian ‘˜Iceman’ Pinder. The UK’s most legendary bass installer and creator of the first UK hair trick vehicle. He’s done more TV than any of the rest of us put together and is quite annoyingly charismatic and loveable. In fact he’s a bleedin’ National Treasure and Talk Audio salutes you dude and wishes you well with your secret project. (Oops, was I allowed to say that?) Anyway, if you want to know how to make the fattest, deepest bass ever to impinge upon the consciousness of mankind, then ask him. He’s available for installs and doesn’t charge ‘˜Legend Rates. But you do get legendary design and execution. PM Original Iceman on the forum.
I was at a posh HiFi shop called Graham’s in Islington last week, to listen to a pile of £20k of Classé pre and power amplification, playing the biggest and best stuff Bowers & Wilkins have to offer, with vapour-deposited Diamond tweeter domes! I want Vapour-deposited Diamond tweeter domes for my car!
Thing is, B&W do a variety of Kevlar and Carbon-coned speaker systems for Jaguar and I have heard the first, in the XF, back when that was new. I think it is high time I organised a check-out-of-the-rich-men’s’ OEM, just for comparison purposes. Don’t you agree?
It’s a short week, what with the Bank Holidays and all, and I have a lass I need to lavish some time upon (it’s one of those work/life/stay married things) so, I’d better get on.
Nice fat video reportage on the second round of the EMMA sound off scene and a madly startling result from the new Blaupunkt subwoofer fresh published. It’s bloody absurd and uses space that comes free
Check ‘˜em out.
