SPL Dynamics Re-Engineer Their Subs to Awesome Effect
This just in from the Mad Finns at SPL Dynamics: (we love these guys mad as basshead brushes and dead keen!)
SPL Dynamics have overhauled their monster SPL series woofers to Version 4. A new cone, high excursion surround and cast basket have been re- engineered for even more strength…..
What do you get when you combine high quality materials, state-of-the-art engineering, and a healthy dose of SPL Dynamics’ famous bass fanaticism? The answer: SPL Series subwoofers.
Ideally suited for use with big SPL Dynamics mono amps, these woofers handle incredible power levels up to 3,000 watts peak (1,500W RMS) to blow away just about anything that stands in their path. These subwoofers are designed to achieve very high volume levels with ultra low distortion.
The mind-blowing 300-ounce magnet structure is triple stacked, and the large 3in voice coils were born to handle big power. The reinforced cone with its high-excursion surround hits quickly and accurately. Spider venting keeps the woofer cool even when you run it long and hard. The SPL woofers feature a direct wire connection method. Benefits of this new connection type include, less signal loss at low impedance, secure vibration free connection and no more broken terminals!
The SPL series subwoofers work best in a ported enclosure. The dual 2-ohm design lets you wire for high output from a suitable monoblock amplifier.
