Brand New High Power, Compact Amplifiers from Hertz

Hertz HP amplifiers have been redesigned to offer more power and a smaller footprint making them even more versatile than before.
Three brand new models; HDP 1, HDP 4 and HDP 5 all use D-Class MOSFET amplification for full-range audio as well as bass, enabling Hertz’ development engineers to design them into very compact Aluminium chassis optimised to keep things cool even under high output conditions. But this is not where the redesign ends. All models will accept direct inputs from the speaker outputs of factory fitted car stereos and feature Automatic Remote Turn On-Off (ART) which senses an audio input and automatically powers up the amplifier. This means installers do not have to run a remote power activation wire, saving on installation time.
The chassis and outer case of the amplifiers are designed for convenience and good looks with all wiring connectors hidden away and all adjustments mounted on top for ease of use. A scratch resistant granular aluminium finish ensures that as well as offering additional cooling benefits and top quality audio, the amplifiers look the part!

HDP’s top panel also features four status LEDs which alert users and installers when the amplifier is working beyond safe limits. Built-in protection helps to guard against short circuit, excessive loads or thermal overload, making the range almost bomb-proof in operation with added robustness offered by the oversized power supply.
On-board filters/crossovers have selectable 12 or 24 dB/Octave slopes and crossover points can be selected for low-pass, high-pass and full range applications, offering huge versatility to these tiny yet high powered performers. With typical Hertz attention to detail, the illuminated Hertz logo on top of the amplifier can be rotated to help with aesthetic integration.
But it is the power to size ratio that will raise eyebrows in practice. The HDP 1 is a monoblock capable of delivering 1,000 Watts RMS into 2 Ohms and measures just 171 x 344 x 46.70 mm and shares a specially balanced input circuit which rejects any erroneous noise. Next up is the HDP 4, a four-channel 150 Watts RMS per channel full range version which offers multiple configuration depending on the planned application. For instance, two full-range channels can be used to drive a front set of components whilst the other two can be bridged to drive 500 Watts RMS into a 4 Ohm subwoofer. Finally, the HDP 5 offers four channels at 70 Watts RMS into 4 Ohms and one at 380 Watts RMS into 4 Ohms.
The new amplifiers are available now from FOUR and FOUR MASTER dealers prices are: HDP 4 – £449.99, HDP 5 – £549.99 and HDP 1 £499.99.
