Waxstock, The UK’s First Car Care & Detailing Festival

While there are plenty of car shows dedicated to everything from classics to race cars, there’s never been a UK event dedicated to car care – until now.

Waxstock, the UK’s first ever car care event is inspired by Woodstock, the world’s most famous music festival, and has been organised by Detailing World, Zaino Europe, Meguiars UK and Dodo Juice on behalf of the car care industry.

Waxstock will be part show, part festival and ‘all’ car care. It’s an event for the general public and the specialist trade everyone from enthusiastic amateurs to professional valeters and detailers. For the first time, car care manufacturers, resellers and pro detailers will gather to show their wares and demonstrate their talents, under one roof, for one day only.

The event will take place over the bank holiday weekend on 26th August 2012 at the Peterborough Arena, East Midlands (easy access to A1). The indoor venue (essential for a detailing festival) features a spectacular and airy glass atrium: the perfect setting for live detailing demos and painstakingly prepared show cars, plus there’s reasonably priced food and drink (including beer), a cash machine and free parking.

On the day there will be two show and shine events, from an ‘arrive and shine’ open to everyone, right through to a pre-qualified concours competition featuring the finest 16 cars that have been selected on Detailing World.

There will be masterclasses with pros, Q&A sessions, test benches with the chance to try out a wide selection of detailing equipment and competitions throughout the day. Not forgetting the large assembly of trade stands and pro detailers, showcasing their work, selling products and giving advice. If you want to meet a detailer to work on your car, or even see them in action, then this is the place. There’ll even be an Embarrassing Bodywork style ‘surgery’ for your car’s paintwork ailments!

The show will cost £8 in advance via www.waxstock.com or £10 on the gate (which includes entry to the ‘Arrive and Shine’ competition if you get there early enough). With limited capacity at the venue, advanced ticket purchase is a must.

The first dedicated UK detailing event is now a reality, and initial reports suggest it has the hallmark of a sell-out event.
