Week Twenty-Four – Wherein I Have Had A Nice Nag With Vanessa

The phone rings at just gone eight this morning. Me and MeJulie are still full out Soonze-O-Lux having celebrated her birthday. I tend to sleep in on days she takes off and work later on. But I grasp the phone and in full scintillating wit say, ‘Hello?’ It’s the nice lady from the Vanessa Feltz show on BBC Radio London who wants to see what my feelings are about the Olympic lane closures and special restrictions. In answer to the question as to why they would ask me, it was Nicky Campbell asking me ‘you do motoring too, don’t you?’ just before he went off to the Beeb from ITV and taking his researchers with him. I had been on a bear pit debate show about big boobs and big women, having been spotted as the Agony Barman in the back of Maxim magazine! I have had calls from the Beeb ever since. I guess I am a tick against ‘will do it at drop of hat’, ‘never swears on air’ and ‘makes some small degree of sense’. MeJulie says that on Radio, I tend to start a fight and leave the room.
Anyway, I end up on air just before eleven and we have a nice nag. I’m not sure if she has made the connection to my bro and my mum, both of whom she has worked with quite a bit but she said it was nice talking to me.
