Week Twenty- Nine and This Is On Time!
After last week’s delayed response and the sheer nastiness of having a viral icky over the weekend that saw me running a temperature, I figured I could do better and get this up a little earlier this fine sunny Monday. And what fabulous windows-down weather we have been getting. I had to explain to a friend from far off warmer climes that for us, 100 degrees is like British-death point, despite our going off in droves to Ayia Napa and the like to roast, burn, get drunk and fall over into shagging heaps together on purpose. BUT today, we are two degrees hotter than where they are! So, a Howdy, Y’all and a warmer-than-the-south-USA morning you lot.
I have now got a ridiculous debt of lurve owed to one James Patterson of Bloomz. That’s here whose top line of their website states, ‘ Bloomz provides specialist car audio design & installation – for any customer, no matter the size of the job.’ he is the chap who hired the apprentice and has expanded his trade as a result. (here: here And I got this Facebook query from a colleague.
Her name is Caramel and yes, her nickname has always been ‘Chewy’ (for which revelation I am now in deep trouble over) and she had a simple question about the best way to spend £100 in Halfords, which of three units So I gently pointed out that she was a respected reviewer who has sold her stuff to HUGE Sunday publications, (I alas, never dared try) so there aught to be a worthy case for a review unit for her. Especially as the review was from a trusted source and about as chalk-and-cheese different in the direction of damn sensible from me as you can get. Nice beaten up estate car, family, busy mama, wants certain features. So I call Kenwood and speak to the folks and on the day we went to see them for Chris Smith, (who is howling like a woluff for his new speakers, by the way, still in my test bench and also handed to me for review that day and to go to him afterwards) they gave me a Bluetooth headunit for her to get installed.
I’ve done some concerted swaggery recently from Celsus so while of course they were the ‘˜go to’ folks to get the needed wire doodah and dashboard panel adaptor for Bloomz, James paid for these rather than thieve them with my help! BUT that simple, quick job was just never to be plug-and-play as I had hoped. So James ended up sourcing a panel from a dead car at a breakers and doing some of his UK-class-leading fabrication to make the bloody 1-in-50 Toyota Avensis that came with the crappy navigation, panel FIT!
So a huge debt of gratitude. James is a total gent and a sweet guy. Caramel was taken with how utterly charming and polite he was and got the feeling this was not just because of the Rayner hook up. Bloomz top blokes! Bloomz 01992 800750.
OK, stuff to go sweat into
