Week Thirty-Two: BEST. SOUNDOFF. EVER!

I do get simply sad now for those car audio fanatics whose days are gone. All that ‘˜Back in the Day’ stuff they talk about on Facebook. I’m a user of ‘Back in the DAYS’ myself, as a term. It went mono a few years back, colloquially. So, yes, back in the Good Old Days of er YESTERDAY, Sunday 4th August 2013!
A sound off scene that has three generations of one family beavering away live at shows to make it happen, is why. The Ackerleys are so loved that all sorts of top car audio practitioners from literally up and down the country get involved and give time and effort for expenses and fun only to judge and help run it! More and better sound quality cars than ever before and a new lunacy level in bass cars that had me experience a 160dB throb so deep, that I liked it at 160dB for the first time ever!
And I met a new competitor or three, which is the best thing of all. That said, I reckon we have a new star in the making in our midst as a deliciously ink-and-attitude woman has suddenly surfaced at sound off. Called Lea, she has subwoofers tattooed on her chest and was competing in the bass contest.
Report-with-video coming up and I have to say the whole awesome SQ and awesome bass in the same place was more than I had experienced before. So nuts to ‘˜Back In the Day’. The ‘˜mainstream’ industry may be contracting but the hobby and high end scene is rocking like never before in performance terms.
And that is a GOOD thing.
OK, pix to sort, video to edit and words to write. Plus that heap of head to work through units, that is.
