Big Badaboom in the BOOK!

Yes, Talk Audio and Fast Car magazine and of course our illustrious chums at the venue of legends that is Santa Pod Raceway, were collectively responsible for SETTING a Guinness World Record, which is about ten times harder than merely breaking one, as you have to be able to prove that a) it is worthy and b) that is has scientific and methodological rigour.
This meant everything from accredited scientists in pairs, a risk assessment, industry-global-calibrated instrumentation and independent witnesses. We had a damn Earthquake meter.

Anyway, here is the article that was all about setting our record. link
So, didja go look? I didn’t need to write it again.
But for those who did not, we all got a certificate and although thrilled, each year as I went to check out the newest print edition of the Guinness Book Of World Records, I would be reminded that no guarantees are ever given that any one record will be published in the Book. And each year again, I would fail to find it.
So there I am in Costco. I have bought a lot of anchoas fillets. Crates of diet R White’s and Pepsi Max, even a fifteen litre crate of fizzy Harrogate Spring.. bit of other stuff and I idly pick up the new red coloured Guinness Book, for yes, the shiny red 2014 edition is there in a big pile of its own.
I turn to the index.. nothing under ‘˜loudest’.
I sigh and scan back for ‘˜Biggest’ and THERE YES, THERE it was!
On page 170 of the tome, the bible of incredible.. is Talk Audio, Fast Car and Santa Pod’s credit and I can glow in knowing it was from ‘˜An original idea by Adam Rayner’. It took a decade or more from first test, to second go to, ‘What in the name of hell are you USING these seismometers for? And can we come and see what you are up to this time?’ from the seismograph and explosives consultants! To finally seeing it in glorious PRINT!

Now, go buy a copy! If you are on this listthen this is about YOU! I love you all to BITS!
