JL Audio STEALTH Boxes!

The concept has been around for a while, such that the term has become generic. Like ‘Bass Tube’ that the inventors, Southern Audio Services , or SAS Bazooka tried and failed to patent as a name, the term ‘˜Stealth Box’ has been here for ages. It is very specific and means a subwoofer enclosure that has been so well form-fitted into the curvaceous recesses of (usually) rearmost behind-wheel-tub ‘˜wells’ of cars and so perfectly colour and fabric-trim matched to the boot trim materials of whatever car it is in, that the flat, subwoofer transducer-bearing face is hardly apparent. In the case of these ones, JL Audio have worked out how to use some seriously esoteric bits of cubic capacity in and around the seating of their crew cab and pickup truck type vehicles.
Basically, it’s a subwoofer box that form-fits into a VERY specific shape and so they are thus made model-by-model. JL Audio now have these a-coming to the UK and we found out. So here’s some skinny:
Mostly, they are for the big selling USA vehicleslike this for an Escalade although we DO have them here..

But some are for their ‘˜imports’ like a FIAT 500

Or the Honda CRV

But this won’t sell much here! It’s for a Toyota Tundra Double Cab 2014+

Anyway, with a bit of nagging, we could see some of the Euro-flavoured ones come to Blighty we’ll have to see!
