UK SOUND OFF KICKS OFF! CAR AUDIO & SECURITY OPEN WEEKEND 2014

(In Rifiki The Wise Old Baboon voice outta The Lion King) ‘It is tiiiiime!’. Time for Round One of the EMMA, or European Mobile Media Association’s car audio competition circuit. Called a ‘˜Sound Off’. Cars are gathered together to see whose car sound system is the very best quality of installation craftsmanship and sheer accuracy, potency and beauty of musical reproduction. The rules are many and strict and are about safety, best practice and fairness. Especially with the ‘˜whose is loudest?’ bit, known as Sound Pressure Level or SPL contests. And yes, they DO blow stuff up.
But the largest part of the EMMA thing is the Sound Quality or SQ element and again, the cars are divided up into a few categories to make it fair. Based upon how much they are allowed to spend on the kit, or else how physically complex they are. It makes for close competitions and some awesome systems.
And the first round of 2014 is being held at the now legendary open weekend at the UK’s favourite Car Audio shop, Car Audio & Security, in Hayes, near Heathrow. There may be installers out there of equal prowess but nobody beats CAS when it comes to sheer choice and competitive prices on the stuff we love.
Also, if you want to find the wickedest stuff in all car audio creation actually in stock or even on display, live-and-real-not-later to feel and yet not lick, it is there.
So beat a path to Hayes this weekend of Saturday and Sunday 26th and 27th April, in Pump Lane, postcode UB3 3NF and pick up a bargain as they genuinely fling a bit of stock at making their weekend rock. So if you were promising yourself that thing, this is the best show in the UK to get to. They also sell at Modified Nationals but you have their own stock room to be sent off to get stiff from. They use a rapid transit underground maglev freight train to a lead lined vault where they keep it.
