CLARION SOUNDS OUT E-COMMERCE

In-car entertainment expert, Clarion UK, launches an on-line store that supports the High Street
The balancing act of capitalising on e-commerce whilst supporting traditional high street dealers takes on a fresh perspective for Clarion UK, the in-car entertainment specialist, on its launch of a resource that provides the best of both worlds.
The Wiltshire-based company, a subsidiary of the major global brand headquartered in Tokyo, has traditionally fed motorists’ appetite for its state-of-the-art car audio, multi-media and navigation products through a well-established UK dealer network.
The opening of the official Clarion UK Store – accessed by its UK website, link provides the convenience benefit of on-line purchases from the entire current UK range of Clarion products.
But significantly, it’s not at the expense of its well-established High Street retail network, as Clarion UK General Manager, Graham Case, explains: ‘We can’t ignore on-line commerce, especially as recent research shows that British consumers have twice the propensity to buy on-line compared with the average in 34 other countries*.’
‘However’, he continued, ‘we will continue to support our existing UK dealer network, whose specialist skills, advice and customer interaction can be extremely valuable to our customers’ experience and future purchases, and can’t be replicated on-line.’
Purchases made via the Clarion Store are offered for fulfilment to the official Clarion dealer nearest to the customer, who will either ship the order to the customer or invite collection from the dealership.
The transaction which includes guaranteed shipment by Clarion UK is handled by the company’s on-line commercial partner, Shopatron, who maintains customer and dealer liaison throughout the transaction.
