What is it about Scandinavia that makes the people so extreme? Whether it’s being a Viking, making mobile phones or driving rally cars, Scandinavians in general and the Finns in particular are one intense bunch of people. Taking speakers to just as far a place, the SPL Dynamics company have two new lines of subwoofer drivers to tell the world about.

XTR Series

SPL Dynamics new XTR-series subwoofers represent the latest in subwoofer technology. These models were designed to reproduce powerful bass with ultra low distortion and fast transient response. A Kevlar/paper composite cone and heavy cast basket combine with a large motor structure to give impressive power handling figures of up to 1000W RMS. UK prices are estimated to start around £150, which is darn keen for product this intense.

SPL Series

SPL subwoofers are the most hardcore subwoofer series that SPL Dynamics have ever made. These subwoofers were designed to achieve very high volume levels with ultra low distortion. Built for serious Streetbass and SPL competitors, these woofers are engineered for the true bass head. Huge motor structure, direct lead wires (no terminals), cast baskets and Kevlar composite cones all ensure these woofers mean business. Power handling is a whopping 1500W RMS. UK prices are estimated to start at £250, which again is mad value for stuff this far west of widdershins. (Extreme.)
