Yes, Alpine Electronics of UK are seeking a new Marketing Assistant, answering upwards to the manager. This is the department that decides marketing budgets, at which point, I remind the eventually successful candidate to still think good of us once they have the job and I wanted to talk to you about that budget.gosh I think I am hilarious!
But seriously, this is a full-on being the face of Alpine’s markting department task. Facing the magazines, the journalists, the media in general, running and manning shows at car events. Job Title: Marketing Assistant
Department: Aftermarket Business Unit
Reports To: Marketing and Operations Manager
SUMMARY: A proactive and efficient Marketing and Public Relations professional to be a key member of staff within the Aftermarket Business Unit who shares the marketing responsibility for the world renowned Alpine branded products. Individuals in this position should be striving towards a high level of skill in the area assigned, as well as obtaining a top level knowledge in all other areas of the Aftermarket division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
To assist the Marketing and Operations Manager in development of strategies for new distribution channels.
To research market movement and create assumptions of future directions.
To initiate and manage social networking analysis and promotional activity (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other Social Network Services)
To manage and create Point Of Sale requirements for dealers and end-user customers.
The management and creation of promotional activities for the dealers, working with area sales managers.
The Maintenance of relationships with journalists, ensuring products are featured in magazines.
The organising and attending of shows and exhibitions (required to work on weekends for those.)
The control of marketing spending against budget, including purchase orders and invoicing management for all marketing costs.
Other general marketing duties.
Also, managing marketing relationship with AOEU (Alpine European HQ in Munich)
QUALIFICATIONS

Use of Microsoft Office, with particular expertise in Excel and Powerpoint.
Use of publishing & photo editing packages like Photoshop.
Possession of good communication skills.
A marketing background.
Suitable experience within an occasionally customer-facing role.
A professional written and telephone manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A university level education is to be expected, but this may be replaced by substantial practical experience in a similar field. Ideal candidate would working towards or possess CIM Qualification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND/OR ABILITY
Familiarity with the automotive industry would be advantageous. Experience in a similar role required. . Background and/or Marketing knowledge, experience preferred.
Background and/or marketing experience in Social Media platforms.
Ability to work under pressure.
Knowledge of automotive or electricals-related industries preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Individual will be expected to lift boxes containing brochures, leaflets and packaging. Manual handling training will be provided.
Generally, this is a secondary position in an office environment, however, you must be able to commute to customer sites.
This role involves some weekend duty to support or lead shows and events. Also, you will be required to travel occasionally, to Europe and world-wide, sometimes at short notice.
