Week Twenty Two Weeks Only To The Modified Nationals!

Well, I did see the loss of hours in my week for daring to take a part of the Bank Holiday for ‘me’ time! But later in the week I got two head unit reviews up. One was a really good in-depth long termer from Simon King on the Kenwood KDC-DAB4551U radio he has had fitted in his car. The other was the Sony WX-GT90BT. That looked a bit Vin Ordinaire, but was quietly a small game-changer statement in SQ terms for some readers. As the signal to noise ratio of the deck on CD was a mad format’s-best 120dB 10Hz to 20kHz. Even if that printed-manual spec was specious, it did sound amazing.
Then there was FlaskGate. I threw down a review of an in-car accessory and it was disapproved of, for favour of hunger for AUDIO. Which is good. But it IS nice to leaven the TA magazine milieu with a smidge of stuff that has general interest to our very specific in-car readership. So, waxes, tyres, electronic countermeasures – especially My most frivolous would be the Ann Summers Travel Rabbit, complete with 12V cigar-lighter plug attached. I did a fridge once, too But a good point was made, regarding the insufficiency of CAR features.
Guilty as charged, for I thought they all had to be epics and was failing on that car feature front as other, shorter items kept coming first. But of course, they don’t have to be epic. You just want to see clear pictures, with the work and cunning revealed, with details of what’s in there and the how and why if need be. So I promise… more cars this summer. Starting with the Ground Zero Shogun of Matt Sprigg.
There is a retro unit hook-up I need to do, before organising some installation assistancepossibly, dahn sarf. For after a silly wait, I have gotten a Kenwood KDC-W6527 RDS/MP3/WMA/CD Chgr controller headunit back in my grasp that I think will run the old KHD-C710 Phatnoise Music Keg from Kenwood. It was bonkers, when I told Guru about it, he regaled me with a taleof which more later but it has to do with Car Audio Direct seeing it first at a Las Vegas CES show.
I am horribly behind with the admin and owe a few associates some paperwork, so will be getting at some of that this week, too, But I’ll do my best to keep the output up, and keep it AUDIO!
I’ll go get on then&;
