Week Twenty-Five IMPOSTOR ALERT!

I saw a post by H of bass fame about a poor soul, who in all innocence decided not just to call himself Iceman, but also to have it cut in the bodywork of his car. Sadly, all those deeply into the car audio scene know that there is but one Original Iceman and as Helen so succinctly put it, ‘There are only two ‘Icemen’ in the world … one is Ian Pinder and the other flew with Goose and Maverick, this guy is clearly an impostor!’ SO, whomever thou art dude, it’s a FAIL.
I have got two amplifier reviews in the pipeline, a Clarion and a Soundstream Reference. Both four channel, the Soundstream was so ‘˜reference’ I have been using it to review stuff exactly as such and the Clarion reads scary highly specified, in a quiet way, which is very ‘˜Clarion’. The Music Keg is starting to look hurt and accusatory and I have some small video backlog now that I like to edit a few shots together. There’s a Sony unit and JBL car to produce. It was a 450bhp V8 Audi RS4 estate and went like stink and made big brummy noises. Real tunnel runner
OK, better get back to the pay dirt and thought you might like to know, I turned down a trip to Karlsbad in Germany with Harman to get the drop on the cool tech Harman are putting in the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was to see the test chambers and so forth. But a) I just figured that out of the 121,000 of you the other month, buyers of new JGCs would be scant and b) I have this problem with press trips with ‘˜fellow’ members of the press. For without one SINGLE exception, every mainstream writer who gets near the subject hasn’t got a fresh laid and steaming CLUE about the realities of car audio and thus, I feel like a damn sixth former at nursery school. Adam Rayner, long known to be the Victor Meldrew of Car Audiobut also hopefully a touch of the Robin Williamses, too!
Still got to wrestle with some hardware, so I’ll go get on then

PS If they had said they would take me to the Carlsbad caverns, that WOULD have been different! Especially as they are in the Guadalupe Mountains in south-eastern New Mexico, USA!.
