Week Thirty-One, They Ain’t Gone, We’re NOT Done.

I did the ten-clip video-assemble of the Propper Droppers 160dB big face-off, with cross blurs. You can see in one transition that I timed the end point well, with a line, ‘This ain’t over , til’ it’s overrrrrrrrrrr!’ fading with the blur. In another I do my best Clarksonesque delivery of ‘Clash of the Titans!’ and pressed ‘˜stop’ too soon, so the cross blur lost it or I shoulda used a different, snappier transition. Hey, I live and learn. While that video is directly above this right now in the margin here on Talk Audio magazine for the immediate readers, for later ones, you can check the Talk Audio TV drop down and select ‘˜Bass’ to find it.
The full complement of Ground Zero speakers arrived at the Bluecoat in Liverpool (although the arty chap called them ‘˜Ground Force’ on the phone. Amazing how a set of nubbins stays in the memory) in the shape of two sets from Car Audio Direct, and the review set from me, of the monstrous Ground Zero 7×10 ovals. link They have also got hold of three fifteens from parts goshknows and all are installed in a massive wooden ‘˜thing’ with three sexy Corbeau seats and I gather are attracting folks who sit in them for like, twenty minutes at a time, soaking up the experience. I look forwards to experiencing the installation myself.
In other news, our über-geek Simon King has had his JVC Adixxion cam arrive safely in her Great-Grandma Majesty’s Royal Mails Special Delivery and is thrilled. He’s a bit of a computer boff and was a little ‘˜ugh!’ about the software probably because it was designed for blokes who use words like. ‘˜sick’ and ‘˜gnarly’ instead of ‘˜good’ and ‘˜impressive’. Anyway, assuming he isn’t killed doing it, we will get some footage soon for TATV!
And I’m most underwhelmed with Fed Ex! They called me last Saturday week and warned I would be getting the pick-up of the home speakers I tested, for Monday. That the hardworking van-ant-man was late, is not too big an issue as it is a home, not a shut business premises and at least the cardboard-henge effect so quick to render you sleeping in a tent on the lawn if left to grow roots, was avoided! BUT, I had called them to ask, to be told that NO pick up at my address was registered. And again on the local system. I was just being told it was ‘˜no idea, not even booked’, in effect. The far-off call centre was as clear as next door so I was startled to be asked. ‘UK’, but thought the system flawed if that obvious ‘˜where’s my van?’ call was rendered pointless.
One of our moderators recently posted a little video clip of his mate, who was the mod Harry Bo and as I type, it is the two year anniversary today of the loss of Joe, ‘˜Da Earthquaker’ Ajii, both gone far too soon. I know others who have lost those close to them, recently, too. And this fine sunny July day, I want to just remind you that while we think of them and talk of them, they are not gone.
OK, I have a BIG heap of head to work through units, that is.
