Week Twelve And Our Boys Are In Salzburg

You know, I get closer to getting to the Euro finals each year! Held in Salzburg, Austria, I am watching the British contingent’s odyssey across Europe on their Facebooks. Thing is, it IS a proper got-enough-cash-to-make-it job, this transcontinental stuff. My SECOND fave bass bird of all time, Lea Doodah-Hyphen who has woofers tattooed on her, er woofers, has swagged a ride and is going as support crew. I knew she was keen but I reckon we need to watch this gal, maybe do a reality TV thing about her season? Thing is, to take part in the finals, it is HUGE thing. In Europe, it is just longer distances from Blighty, it is all drive-on-the-wrong-side-and-take-out-serious-cover. Your car needs to be in good nick and tough, too. The daft rubber band tyres of one car on the journey failed in one corner and the failure-shots looked scary but was just a tyre-replace. In the end just like in ‘˜Top Gear Does Mars’, or whatever, as from the Facebum point of view, it was just magically fixed in the next photo. And as I write, cars are assembling at the event from all over Europe and even farther away. I reckon there will be folks from the far off Eastern states, even Russians, in the midst of their political mayhem.
Talk Audio wishes all the luck of the Irish, as well as all sorts of others, it being Saint Patrick’s Day today, to the entire team. The day that 34 million Irish-descended Americans suck as much joy from the event as possible. In fact, until the 1970s, the pubs were ruddy SHUT on the Saint’s Day in The Emerald Isle! We don’t do the mad stuff. Or if we do, it is like Trick or Treat and thus bizarrely imported BACK from the USA. I have a few Americans I talk to and they are all thinking the whole UK gets drunk on Guinness tonight.
No, but a shipload of Irish-extracted and native folks of Ireland will of course, be drinking in some serious libatory reverence for Saint Patrick today. I heard from the scientists from Vibrock who validated our Guinness World Record (see what I did there?) that their patron saint is called Barbara. This from Wikipedia: ‘Saint Barbara is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. Her association with the lightning that killed her father has caused her to be invoked against lightning and fire; by association with explosions, she is also the patron of artillery and mining.’ And if that ain’t BOOM then I am thin. So may Babs look over Mister NIGEL HILL in particular as he is the ONLY UK SPL competitor going. Team EMMA UK is adhesive but they are all SQ Fairies to him. And despite it taking huge efforts to get the car ready being needed, he did it. And a monstrously painful medical issue (mechanical, not sinister, as my mum used to say, so don’t fret.) he alone has been able to afford to take British Boom to the Euro finals. He is the Highlander, our only Hope In Bass, our LUKE SKYWALKER of British Boom.
Go Team UK and Kill ‘˜em, Nige, blow their bloody doors off, we love you.
The car shows are all over Facebook, The Fast Show is the next, and yet for our pash of car audio, the shows that really matter are a bit more specific. With The Nationals, as the ‘˜Modified Nationals’ have been abbreviated to, as round ONE of the UK EMMA scene always signifying the start of my own personal season.
And one LOVELY snippet of news is that VIBE are at these EMMA Euro finals, as supporters and sponsors of sound off and are in fact also planning the development now, of products to get involved in the top end of sound off SQ competing as well. Really
Some cool new widgety bits coming from InCar Tec to show you soon and some lovely speakers lined up to play with OK. Later than normal, the Guinness will be flowing
