Week Twenty I can see clearly now.
You know, there is an actual job which entails you Meeting & Greeting guests for BBC TV appearances, such is the volume of sofa-fodder for BBC Breakfast. The nice lass who does this job has to calm down terrified guests and ‘˜pundits’ who say ‘yes’ only to realise just how suffocatingly exciting it is to suddenly be live on National BBC TV and get the nerves. I do my stage fright in advance and always have. On the day, I want to bite their faces off! She so does not have to drag me into the studio. We had to exchange a couple of e-mails and yes, they paid me my bijou fee-ette after going to Salford for one night, getting on the sofa only to be bumped off it by a morning-time news story about a kid called Charlie!
I had to go back the next day to the Volvo fixits, meanwhile, to complete my driver-aide install in my lovely XC70 estate car, as the hours of labour that Sentinel Cars put in were the sort of thing that a car audio fitter would be familiar with. (I couldn’t get the car there for 8am) There were looms and bits to fit and lots and LOTS to take apart. Only to reassemble once a loom had been laid through. Furthermore, being OEM equipment and vehicle-specific, right down to the VIN-number related software update to include the two cameras into my car’s complex and yet easy to use panoply of toys, each loom part was pre-wired, pre-wrapped and terminated to make it all plug and play.
Mohammed at Sentinel did a lovely job, you can see the fully edited video, which is still a bit long, really, on the front page of the magazine for a bit, as well as within the Presenterbloke channel on YouTube. I do keep on crapping on about having the T6 twin turbo engine in it I am gripped by the thing and want to learn more about Polestar.
Tomorrow, or rather today, as I type on the late shift, I am pulling off a MAJOR COUP! Yes, I am sending, or rather Crown Jules Media who make the editorial of Fast Car magazine, is sending Connor Surdi, Link car snapper to the stars, from Seattle to Sacramento California, babay!
There, he will get to shoot one massively famous car audio install the legendary Tahoe of the 178,000,000 views Internet Legend that is Steve Meade. The one with the Rockford amps and speakers as well as Steve’s own SMD 18 weapons of sub-bass hellacity.
I am so excited and have some huge videos as well to launch with the interview and the ‘˜car’ audio features on the Tahoe as well as is mad off road 4×4 RZR by Polaris, also stuffed with Rockford gear.
