You know, there is an actual job which entails you Meeting & Greeting guests for BBC TV appearances, such is the volume of sofa-fodder for BBC Breakfast. The nice lass who does this job has to calm down terrified guests and ‘˜pundits’ who say ‘yes’ only to realise just how suffocatingly exciting it is to suddenly be live on National BBC TV and get the nerves. I do my stage fright in advance and always have. On the day, I want to bite their faces off! She so does not have to drag me into the studio. We had to exchange a couple of e-mails and yes, they paid me my bijou fee-ette after going to Salford for one night, getting on the sofa only to be bumped off it by a morning-time news story about a kid called Charlie!
