An Appeal On Behalf Of The BASS MEKANIK
This truly is a first for me. Regular readers may recall that I am a chum of The BASS MEKANIK, who is Neil Case, who lives near JL Audio’s factory in Florida. (Near at this range, it’s 110 miles) He has recently had need to start a GoFundMe campaign in an effort to combat his loss of sight due to worsening Glaucoma. I have been lucky enough to visit and go interview him for TV before the Internet (Pulling Power ITV segment “The Bass That Ate Miami’) and again during a JL Audio dealer trip with Celsus
After posting to my Facebook, I have felt compelled to post it here as well. Do help if you can.
‘I have never done this, but I have donated to a bit of GoFundMe and done some private fuckthatprobelmoffwithsomemoney stuff, just as I can finally afford it. But now Boys, and some Girls, if you ever felt the bass in a car, if you ever heard a Bass track, the chances are, you were moved by THE BASS MEKANIK. He is a man, he is my friend and he is going to lose his sight without surgery. I know times are always tight but I know a small heap of OLD SKOOL BASSERS who will feel guilty if they don’t chip in. In surgical USA terms, it’s not a lot at eleven grand US. So please, if you are IN CAR AUDIO and past forty, you know I mean you. And YOU TOO, mister posh audiophile dealer! He sold a LOT of bass products through your shop, too! Please help… He uses computer screens to manipulate the music. Don’t let glaucoma stop the bass.’
Yes, it’s a bully post but we owe this man an awful lot.
