Audio Wave Reveal New Aspire Pro
This just in from Uber high-end car amplifier brand Audio Wave.
The new Aspire pro is due to be released in December.
If you thought that the Aspire was good then the Aspire Pro will knock your socks off!
The amplifier operates in class A/B but is biased more into class A than the standard Aspire, with an idle current of approximately 6-7 amps. The amplifier’s sound is much more focused and defined, giving you a 3D effect with outstanding clarity and a bandwidth of 12.5Hz 100KHz @ -1dBr.
The amplifier is an upgraded Aspire with over thirty new parts and a redesigned PCB that took over fifty man hours to perfect. The component layout is very similar to the standard Aspire but the track layout has changed to handle higher currents and has improved ground tracks. The PCB itself is military specification three ounce copper with a black solder resist and Gold plated through-holes and pads.
The amplifier also has a new transformer and operates at a different voltage compared to the standard Aspire. The output of the amp has increased, giving 230Watts per channel @ 4 Ohms @ 0.1% total harmonic distortion and can deliver 850Watts @ 8 Ohms @ 0.1% THD when bridged using the bridging module. This amplifier can’t be parallel bridged like the standard Aspire.
The size of the amplifier and position of power and speaker connecters are the same as the standard Aspire enabling current owners to upgrade without any modifications to their existing build.
The heat sink is anodised black and the top fins have been hand brushed to reveal the Aluminium. When the amp is opened up, the same theme has been used on the PCB heat sinks.
The new amps will be released in December for the UK market only. Exports will begin in 2011.
A new Sonic Frontiers Bliss/ Audio Wave demo car will feature a number of the Aspire Pro amps and Talk Audio forum readers will be able to see the build on the SQ forum in the next couple of months.
