Caliber RMD 015 – The Radio With The Skinnies!

Caliber, the affordable car audio brand offer the RMD 015 for just £24.99. It is an FM radio with 18 presets, 4 x 55 W of on-board chip power, as well as holes in the front. These are sockets for a 3.5 mm stereo jack plug, so anything with an audio output (headphones out) may be plugged in and called auxiliary, as well as a USB socket and a little slot that will take a microSD card.

The microSD is capable of 32 GB capacity. I am not sure what’s the USB can cope with. But between these four possible sources, you could carry more music than an entire articulated lorry filled with old school CD changers could ever have managed!

I recall one car show, where JVC were showing off how good their CD changers were. They had connected 6 twelve-disc players onto one cassette deck. Oh how we marvelled at the choice! Trouble was they had all the hardware but not the software and some poor fellow had to go out shopping for compact discs to fill them up.

At only 35mm deep, The Caliber RMD 015 is scarcely much thicker than an old-fashioned removable front car radio! And as John Griggs said, this means this cute little radio can be mounted just about any place. Check out the video…
