Car Audio Security Open Day 2009
Now one of the best and most well established dealer events in the UK, Adam Rayner reports from the lads dahn Heefrow way….
Raj and his crew down at Pump Lane in Hayes near to Heathrow Airport are one of the biggest and most important sellers of mobile electronics in all the UK. The amount and breadth of what they stock is unparalleled anywhere. In fact, they recently took on the specialist dealer distribution of all the JBL and Infinity car audio products, a stable of some serious excellence.
But if you are into a deal and want to go buy something a slice better than the ordinary, this is one shop that’s like the Tardis as the space inside bears no relation to how it first looks.
Put it like this; one guy had travelled up from Cornwall to be there to come and spend a grand or so on some really high end Rainbow speakers and amplifiers as he had posh tastes but wanted to keep the price under control. The sheer amount of instant ice satisfaction that can be had at CAS is awesome.
So much so that Vibe thought it a cool place to deposit their crazed coffin demo cabinet for their Black Death woofers. Also, at the time of the show, the hot new Kenwood Scirocco demo car was in the showroom itself as part of the Kenwood dealer tour the car is doing. But that isn’t all that was on show. For CAS is possibly the biggest account for all the suppliers both big and small so when they ask for some attendance and support for their dealer open weekend, the get it and how!
There were demo cars there in droves, with the Kicker Hummer, CAS’s own Orion HCCA Golf, JBL Audi new shape TT and JBL Scooby with the 6kW Crown amplifier. Also, the Modified Nationals GT300 as CAS were the retail partners at the show. Alpine’s exquisite SQ+ Golf was there with the subs in the pods and Four had a Hertz Golf in the house. Grish Janday brought colleague Dan Mason along to have a short ride from Pioneer head office in the sunshine with the top down on their red Audi cabriolet. Midbass had their Porsche, the Space Golf, the R8 Audi and cars from Fli and Edge. Fusion had their Fiesta, all nestled around the boss’s Ferrari.
Team Ice were there too, with Ian ‘Iceman’ Pinder and his Team-ICE spar Mark who has four of the fifteen inch HCCAs and is one of the loudest cars in the country.

The sun shone, the cars boomed and despite the tough times, kit was flying out the door. I took a shot of all the great and the good as it was great way for the likes of me to schmooze with the top blokes from Armour, Alpine, Four, Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC and Fusion all in the one place. I took a snap of them all lined up to use them as the board of Megacorp in the Son of BoomZilla cartoon strip. If you were there, you coulda bagged a biggie bargain, if not, you missed it!
But they do run SPL contests at the spot so check out their website from time to time right here. Always a good day out, thanks lads!
