CES NEWS Starting to Flow. Excitement builds.
As the all-digital CES approaches, I am starting to get press releases flow in. It’s terribly exciting but I do have to work out which to share, as I will be inundated with more than you will be wanting to see. (Anyone keen on easy to clean school learning-headset headphones?) I do have a wider interest than hifi, be it in home or car. And mobile personal stuff… I have signed to see a few more categories but kept it sane as to volume, so as to keep close to my core world, overall. This is an extract from one of the most awesomely impenetrable bits of jargon-speak I ever read. I was struggling to grasp what they do, after struggling to pronounce their acronym. But I think it is a virtual prototyping system for automotive ‘things’.
One thing is for certain, as a French company, they have definitely hired a totally 24 karat top end business writer for their English language releases. Apart from the old ‘comprised of’ error. This is from EPICNPOC (read that out loud, try it… it is easier with a French accent)
Comprised of a set of functional software, hardware, and tools, BOWL™ Automotive provides a playground to quickly design, develop, validate and test new in-vehicle experiences. Working prototypes can be quickly socialized with project stakeholders to accelerate collaboration and user experience iteration. Once the project is complete, there is a set of reusable assets that can be handed off to the development team for rapid commercialization.
“We are excited to partner with Business France to exhibit at CES® 2021. Desired user experiences enabled by digitization in mass market automotive requires a shift in the development paradigm from Engineering for Perfection to Design for Flexibility. To accelerate this shift, BOWL™ Automotive applies a methodology that is a blend of hard science: engineering and robust development technology with soft science: human factors and design thinking,”
Bertrand Stelandre, CEO of EPICNPOC
Well, it is purple prose. And to be honest, looks to be technology to sell to car makers, such that they can try stuff out on real people, in a virtual environment, which is as 21st Century as it gets.
Do pop in and see.. it’s getting hectic from next monday!
