Edd Elson is BASS KING 2012
Ed Elson has finally been awarded his fabulous embroidered BASS KING 2012 jacket. As gaudy as any from any other sport, it has the words BASS KING in a curve across his shoulders, the year below that and then the art. There’s a wonderful golden crown with jewels surmounting a massive gold bass clef above the words Ultimate Bass Champion. On the chest it has the three logos of the Propper Droppers, dB Drag and ESPL formats that he was winner of and on the other side, over his heart are the words BASS KING 2012 EDD ELSON.
I nearly failed to add the second D to ‘Edd’ as he prefers and it was only by Jay Golinsky (famous TV obsessive car detailer) via Twitter that I was saved from ruining the whole job with a simple cock up. So thanks for the correction, Jay! I have to hand it to the embroidery company, Arrow Embroidery, who work for British Airways and Nandos and Tesco Extra and all sorts of huge accounts, they were brilliant.
I discovered that Arrow use better thread and with deeper densities of stitch count than most others, which is part of their success, that and lots of hard labour. But the jacket is fabulous and you will be seeing it around – or I’ll kick Edd’s butt!
Won with the amazingly potent Ground Zero equipment from Germany, who’s engineering also goes all the way up to such dizzyingly expensive SQ heights that you cannot order them from stock in the UK – special order only – as well as making bass equipment to debone a dinosour. The sound pressure and clarity as well as the sheer lunacy of how deep Ed’s car sound system drops is unequalled in UK history.
Yes, systems have hit higher SPL numbers before (there was a UK 170!) but not remotely as deep and powerfully strong at the depths as this one before. All built on his own skills, including the engineering of the addition of two mighty alternators to the car, Edd also won Built Not Bought at the same Modified Nationals show that he garnered glory for his system in the big BadaBOOM.
Here is a rather badly-shot video (I was over excited is the problem…) of Edd Elson being given the Jacket to crown him UK first ever BASS KING!
