FOUR Create Delicious Demo Cars Catch Up With One Near You in 2011

FOUR have just re-fitted 2 of their cars, and the guys at FOUR thought you might like to share their latest installs
Both of the cars are used as the guys at FOUR’s daily drives, family cars and demo cars, so installations need to be kept practical, functional and of course sound fantastic!
Jas’ Audi A6 has a full HERTZ audio system installed, and was designed to be a bit beefy on the bass, but with a front system to keep up, and show SQ+. The bass system consists of two of the new Hertz SPL Show SX300 12in woofers in a vented enclosure, each with an EP1D amplifier driving it with 1,000W RMS. These subs are designed for musical high output without the need for huge enclosures, so Jas gets to keep plenty of boot space. To keep up with the epic bass, the front system is a Hi-Energy 3-way component set, 6.5in midbass, 3in midrange and 1in tweeter. This front system uses the BitOne to it’s full potential and is set up to run actively, ensuring plenty of clean power from 2 EP4 amps, one for the mid and tweeter, the other bridged to the midbass. All of the amplifiers are installed under the boot floor for a discreet install, and again make sure Jas has plenty of luggage space.

Chris’ Audi A6 has an Audison system installed using the newly released and already award winning VOCE components. The system is a bit more interesting than that though! The Audi MMI system that comes in the car uses MOST optical to supply signal to the factory amplifier which in the past has limited the audio upgrade potential to using some form of high level signal converter after the amplifier, to get a signal into an aftermarket amplifier. Not any longer, Chris’ car uses exciting new sound processor from MotusLab which completely does away with the factory amplifier and plugs straight into the Audi’s MOST system. The MotusLab AGW+ has 8 channels of RCA output each of which have crossover, time correction and equalisation behind them to optimise the sound.
The front system is a 3-way Audison VOCE set-up consisting of 6.5in midbass, 3in midrange and 1.1in tweeter which are sold as separate drivers, and whilst there is a passive crossover available, Chris runs his active.

The mid and tweeter run off a four channel amplifier, the midbass off a two channel and there is also a monoblock amplifier for the subwoofer system. The amplifiers and subwoofer are all hidden away under the boot floor, so the car has fully useable luggage space (Chris has managed to fit no less than five EZ-Up marquees, Audio Control RTA, four directors chairs and more in the car, with this system in!). The system hidden in the boot, is still under development, and is awaiting a new range of amplifiers, a subwoofer change, and a re-install, so watch this space for further developments.

Chris & Jas both love demoing their cars so if you want a listen, contact your nearest FOUR Master store link and ask to make an appointment when they are next in your area.
