GZ Hits Over 170dB! ‘OOOH Those RUSSIANS!’
A free 4GB USB stick to the first person to name the band that had that line in their song in the eighties. (Clue: ‘˜Brown Girl’) Anyway, we KNOW that the Russians are keen as mustard about car audio and that some serious car audio contests happen over there. And this news story is fresh in from Ground Zero Europe.. so we bring it to you here, for their SPL cars have hit over 170dB!

Amazing victories for Ground Zero Team Russia at the AMT finals 2013
The 24th of August was a sunny Saturday when this year the AMT Russia Finals took place in Ufa (Baschkortostan Region in Russia). Since 2011, AMT has emerged as one of the biggest Car Audio competition platforms for SQ (Sound Quality) and SPL (Sound Pressure Level). The 2013 season consisted of a total of twenty-eight events all over the country and many expected hard ‘fights’ in several categories for this year’s finals.
Thus, more than 150 cars came to the showdown event – mostly in SPL. And more than 10% of the cars qualified to the finals were equipped with Ground Zero components. A real great presence for GZ Team Russia!
And here are the results for Ground Zero: Four winners in the most prestigious SPL categories, two second places in SPL & SQ as well as three third places in different categories. In addition, one new SPL record has been set by GZ Team Russia!
The winners details:
1st Place in SPL Show 8 Woofer class: ГуÑев ÐлекÑей with 151.95dB
1st Place in SPL Show Monster class: Ремизов Сеђгей with 171.88dB (WHAAAAT, ED!)
1st Place in SPL Show 4 Woofer class: Сапђин Ðндђей with 150.7dB (Record!)
1st Place in SPL Show specialist class: Karpov Brothers with 158.1dB (3dB in front 2nd)
