Happy New IMAX! New Year – New Tech!

A very Happy New year to you all! If you are here at all, the chances are, you ain’t no spring chicken and you are something of a tech fan. For both… and for still being with me, I salute you! Thank you ever so much. I can tell you that you are in some awesome company, which I only really ever tended to find out about if I put my foot in my mouth, as it were. Ramming it to hip-height is a skill, and finding out WHOM I may have irritated has been impressive on occasions. And I specifically exclude all Britons… this was engineers and such, outraged at the odd fact-failed or truly vexatious opinion. And all the way to the top.. so if you are one of those now smiling gently to yourself, here’s to a cooking 2019.

Following just a few chosen lines of kit these days, I had an amazing 2018. It included the best SQL car of all time, by Auto Audio & Nikolai T.

 

 

 

And of course the BIGGEST SYSTEM I EVER TESTED had its video go bonkers..72,000 PLUS VIEWS – most in 2018

 

 

 

But this was the single most expensive two-channel system I ever experienced.

But last of all in the year and fabulously still largely unexplored is the brand new IMAX On my doorstep in Watford, by Cineworld. It also has the new 4DX wraparound triple-screen, triple projector technology as well as being part of the group that also owns the Empire Leicester Square, where they have just installed the world’s most sophisticated dual-lobed Dolby Atmos system for the rare cinema with a balcony. Each set of the audience get their own set of overhead speakers.

Also, the IMAX at Cineworld Watford has a new 12.0 audio system with twelve FULL range speakers. I immediately asked cheeky performance questions of Kyril, the head tech for Cineworld in the UK. He smiled gently and told me that was proprietary information!

It was a lovely early Christmas treat, the Mrs. saw Aquaman some days before its release, and I got my story…
