HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM TALK AUDIO – CES STARTS TOMORROW!

With an apology for being a lazy git and not posting sooner! We of course would like to wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year from all at Talk Audio. That’s myself, your Guru, the ONE and only Mr. Mike Organ and our crew of illustrious madly lovely mods. These latter have been the lifeblood of Talk Audio from the very start. At seven years in, I remain the NOOB! Thanks, boys.
I have been lucky enough to have been a guest of the now-called Consumer Technology Association of America these last two years, flight & hotel paid for, as part of their ‘Scholarship Journalist Program’. This is where a LOT of lolly is spent on shipping in writers and snappers from all over the planet. They pick ones with good audiences, authority and reach but not necessarily the sponsors to get them flown to Vegas. Not a problem for Home Cinema Choice editor, Mark Craven, as he gets an invite from big TV maker companies. Bless him, he couldn’t go this year, either! So, like me, he has been indoors as his inbox explodes and creaks.. er switch that, reverse it..
But I aught not have been thus spoilt TWICE! The idea is to spread it around and just keep on growing audience and awareness. It seems to have worked, as they had 176,000 people in town last year for this show! I can tell you that the 176,000 figure has now been adopted as the ‘cap’ to numbers, as the town all but seizes up. Hilarious. But unlike previous years, it is grey and gloomy and not sunshiney in Las Vegas right now, even raining and security now deemed needful is going to be hellish when they open the show floor tomorrow. I foresee huge two-hour angry queues….
As our aftermarket 12 Volt world contracts, I will be doing more OEM stuff and getting listens to all sorts of posh cars for fun, as well as keeping up with the hardcore stuff like Morel. In the meanwhile, I will publish some more news from the show…promise!
OK, I am well behind in stuff… the TATV content management system has been added to, though..and I have a couple of cars to upgrade. First, a Yaris belonging to my mate Beff’s daughter. Yes, I am now so old that young persons I know are all taking driving tests and getting runabout cars!
