Kenwood: The International CES, Las Vegas 2015
I visited Kenwood and while I am chummy with the UK operation and have been to Japan twice with them in the past, the USA guys do not really know me from Adam. Chortle! But I was drippingly keen to get inside and film the GUI in the incredible McLaren hypercar they had there. I asked one of the Japanese executives, after introducing myself in my few halting words of Japanese, how much it had cost to ship the car from the UK to Las Vegas. He stopped, thought a moment and said, ‘ahh Fiffy thousan’ pounds..!’
I had a massive language barrier as my Japanese is all but non-existent. The clips are hilariously bad in places, especially when I stop talking at last and ASK the chap ‘˜what’s in here?’ and he doesn’t quite get me. I stop the camera and he sort of started. Anyway, despite me being wedged in like a squid in a bottle I have techniques to gradually squidge in and out of supercars and can tell you that a Lambo Aventador has more room in it. Get me! Onlookers responsible for the car nervously took the cameras I handed to them and were fearful until I was safely done.
THIS may be the future and you saw it here first. It makes the awesome GUI in the Tesla I saw in London, look like finger painting. Whomever has been working on this, I want to shake their hand clever bastards.

Drroooool.
Last but not least and yet so overshadowed in my excitement that I forgot and had to come back and edit this to include it, was Mr. Scott Caswell of Kenwood USA and our look at the CarPlay-plus-Android Auto units. Here is the DDX9902S:
