Massive Audio AK4 4 Gauge Power Wiring Kit

There are a number of CEA compliance standards (we know about the power amplifier one) but this is the only cable supplier I have heard of that is accredited to the CEA-2015 cabling standard, let alone being the only compliant one of those I got samples of for this round up. CEA Standards are a comprehensive set of specifications for most areas of mobile electronics, initially desired due to the different ways in which amplifier makers rated their outputs. Some from self-effacement and some from braggadocio. The CEA standard is in common use among USA based amplifier manufacturers, so we are familiar with the logo but the 2015 cable standard was something I admit I wasn’t even up to speed on knowing about. For those of you who are involved in high end, this is Good To Know. However, like THX, a brilliant standard for home cinema kit, it is possible not to buy into the system and still make awesome kit. Not all that many makers bother with THX as should do, as some can’t adhere and some don’t feel the need as their specifications exceed the THX spec anyway. So it is with some of the wires here. I suspect some of being of very high quality indeed. And even the ‘commodity’ jobs are very good as well. This set arrives in a cross between the KnuKonceptz’ boring box and Autoleads amazing humongous blister. You can’t really see into it but it is weighty.

Open up this one of only three products that Massive sell in this direction and you find it like a Burkha all dressed up underneath the exterior. Packed neatly in coils inside are the most flexible and best made wires in the seven brands played with. The conductors are super-flexible and the jackets evenly coated onto the wires (most here had variances up to 50% of the insulator thickness around their circumferences) and the distal ends have super-crimped terminations ready in place. The live cable has a jacket of Nylon mesh neatly fixed and finished off with a shrink tube piece which is a bunch of ops the likes of KnuKonceptz and Sound Quest should look at perhaps.
The speaker cable is handsome and thick as well and the conduit comes ready threaded onto the earth wire section. Beautifully presented, it is a shame this wire is not also available off the roll as it is the best actual cable I have ever handled for sexy flexy ease of use. As such the set scores a second Best Buy in this group of seven and a well deserved one.
