Morel’s Legendary Status Shines With 2012 CES Gong
Morel loudspeakers, the Israeli makers of some of the world’s best car and home speakers alike, including the review-stonking Fat Lady stereo HiFi speaker have won a major global-grade accolade from the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association of America.) This is the outfit that runs the CES show in Las Vegas, (as well as others) the biggest Consumer Electronics Show on Earth. The award is a CES 2012 Honoree for Design and Engineering.

Morel IL Ltd., a worldwide leader in speaker components and systems since 1975, announced today that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its new SUPREMO 602 2-way car audio component system.
Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a pre-eminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honour outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 32 product categories.
“It is an honour to be recognized by the CEA as an Honoree in the CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards for our latest car audio flagship, the SUPREMO 602. The new SUPREMO 602 is the finest example of Morel’s passion and commitment to audio excellence, and it reinforces our position as a high-end car audio speaker manufacturer.’ insists Nir Paz, director of sales and marketing at Morel. ‘Employing technical innovation from Morel’s award winning home audio flagship speaker system, the Fat Lady, enabled the creation of this new generation SUPREMO while also laying the groundwork for the new, soon to be released, car audio product range,’ he concludes.
‘Being an Honoree signifies the dedication put forth by our R&D team. The ability to implement the many philosophies derived from the four years working on the Fat Lady project, such as unique crossover circuits and drive unit design, while developing new approaches to overcome the acoustical challenges of the automotive environment are what place the SUPREMO 602 in a class of its own,’ stated Oren Mordechai, executive VP and R&D director. ‘We take special pride in the tweeters and woofers developed for the SUPREMO 602, and based them on Morel’s top-of-the-range drive units – those implemented by other high-end manufacturers in their top designs and carrying price tags exceeding $100,000, as well as in Morel’s own Fat Lady speakers,’ Mordechai adds.
The new SUPREMO 602 system as well as Morel’s highly anticipated new car audio range will be displayed at the 2012 International CES, which runs January 10-13, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
