Power, compact size and competitiveness were the goals for Hertz Design engineers when developing the brand new HCP (Hertz Compact Power) amplifiers. Hertz has employed all of its experience and know-how to provide the most suitable product to satisfy the needs of the first time enthusiast.
The five amplifiers in the range all feature a comprehensive set of hi-pass and lo-pass filters with bass boost and subsonic filtering. All products also feature automatic remote turn on which powers them up when they receive a signal on either line or speaker level inputs, saving the need to run a remote turn-on cable. An optional remote controller is available for bass boost. Compact size is achieved by employing both D and AB class circuitry. This range is highly versatile, managing to deliver high power levels at very competitive prices.
The HCP heat sink has been crafted from extruded aluminium, a material unmatched for lightness, robustness and heat dissipation characteristics. To keep size to a minimum, the power transistors are placed between the PCB and the top of the heat sink where heat is gathered and directed to the special dissipation ‘wings’ along the side of the amplifier.
The range consists of the HCP 1 Mono block, HCP 2 Two-channel, HCP 4 Four channel class AB, HCP 4D Four channel Class D and HCP 5D Five channel class D offering unique flexibility for entry level system building. Retail prices range from £169.99 to £449.99 and are available from all FOUR outlets.
