New Pioneer Add On Navigation

Pioneer is pleased to announce the new addition to our NavGate range, the AVIC-F220, which provides a flexible navigation solution for all of Pioneer’s new 2010 line up of in-car AV receivers.
This exciting new add-on navigation product is an ultra flexible navigation solution that is compatible with all Pioneer’s 2010 in-car AV receiver models. It can be placed anywhere in your car, facing any direction, making it a convenient and subtle way to incorporate navigation into your vehicle. Because the AVIC-F220 is compatible with all of Pioneer’s new 2010 AV receivers, including the single din AVH-5200DVD and AVH-5200BT, it provides a complete navigation solution.

The AVIC-F220 offers full turn-by-turn route guidance and 2.3 million Points of Interest (POI’s) with the ability to create custom POI’s utilising the NavGate FEEDS PC software.
NavGate Feeds is a downloadable application which allows the user to customise their units by adding their own Points of Interest, create driving, eco and fuel reports – particularly useful if you need to keep track of your carbon footprint or expense account.
NavGate Feeds utilises Google Maps to find or add addresses and unique points of interest.
Alternatively, if you have an Excel spreadsheet with the details and GPS coordinates of particular points of interest, NavGate Feeds can convert the data into a format suitable for your NavGate system. NavGate Feeds will copy a file to your SD card or USB device, which can then be used directly in your NavGate system.
New for 2010 is the inclusion of Pioneer Apps. These new Apps allow for applications such as Clocks and Photo View. Applications can unlock functionality in the AVIC-F220. Once downloaded and transferred to the unit via SD card, these applications can be used as alternative screensavers to the map view. They give access to different clock views and allow slideshows of personal photos complete with transition effects. Additionally, users can still add POI’s via SD card.
With its Traffic Message Channel (TMC) receiver, the AVIC-F220 system warns the user of impending traffic jams, construction works, and other traffic emergencies on their route. The AVIC-F220’s compact design allows for versatile installation in small areas and can easily be detached from its in-vehicle base for planning ahead using NavGate Feeds.
Pioneer highly recommends an AVH AV receiver in combination with the add-on AVIC-F220 for consumers who have not yet invested in a navigation system. Pioneer’s 2010 AVH AV receivers offer full-featured CD/DVD playback, USB connection for iPod/iPhone control and -for selected models- the convenience of built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling.
The Pioneer AVIC-F220 will be available in April 2010.
