New Pioneer CD – SD Tuners
Three new high-power CD tuners, providing the versatility of both SD cards and USB connectivity, will be available across Europe from January 2010.
The new line-up includes the:
DEH-7200SD: CD Tuner with iPod Control, SD Card slot, USB-in and Flap-Type Front Panel
DEH-5200SD: CD Tuner with iPod Control, Front USB, SD and 3 Hi-Volt RCA Pre-outs
DEH-4200SD: CD Tuner with SD-Card Slot, Front USB and Aux-in, iPod Direct Control and 3 RCA Pre-outs
All 3 models allow you to connect an iPod, iPhone, portable MP3 player or USB device, or simply insert an SD card.
Each tuner also offers complete flexibility when it comes to connecting extra amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers. Engineered to the best-in-class audio standards that Pioneer have set over the years, these new tuners enhance the sound quality of compressed music to ensure a dynamic in-car listening experience.
Pioneer’s new SD CD tuners each have an SD Card Slot discreetly hidden behind their front panels, compatible with both SD and SDHC cards.
The units allow playback of MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC files from SD.
The DEH-7200SD comes with a front Panel that flips open at the touch of a button to reveal the CD and SD slots which will flip back into place once a disc or card is inserted to maintain a smooth, clean dashboard look.
Other versatile connections include a front USB 2.0 high-speed direct interface to link USB audio devices simply and immediately to enjoy a selection of tunes. And with the optional CD IU50 iPod to USB cable, an iPod or iPhone can easily be plugged in.
All three new models are designed as the most dynamic solution to connect and improve playback performance for iPods and iPhones. With iPod Direct Control, consumers can connect their iPod straight to the tuner’s front USB terminal and take charge of their music from behind the wheel and as a handy extra, the iPod will charge while connected.
To make searching and selecting tracks from various sources more convenient, the DEH-7200SD and DEH-5200SD come with a Full-dot Blue OEL Display that shows three lines of information. OEL technology also allows for wide viewing angles, active 3D visuals and high contrast and brightness, even in sunlight.
Key iPod and mobile audio player features – such as artist/album/track selection and play list access – are simply commanded. All functions are managed through an optional remote or Pioneer’s single Rotary Commander: the interface that sets the bench mark for intuitive tuner control.
The superior audio performance of these new SD CD tuners arises from an intelligent mix of technologies. The units incorporate a 24-bit Delta Sigma D/A converter along with proprietary Advanced Sound Retriever technology. By adjusting frequency response and sound levels, especially in the high and low frequency ranges, Advanced Sound Retriever technology puts the harmonics lost during compression back into the music. Put simply, audio is revitalised and depth returned to reproduce sound in exceptional quality: Quality that will unleash the full power of Pioneer’s celebrated MOSFET 4x50w amplifier set-up.
Should extra power be required, RCA pre-out connectors are available for additional amplifiers. With an on-board low pass and high pass filter, subwoofer control is extremely straightforward.
The audio can even be tuned to your personal taste through an improved 5-band Graphic Equaliser (GEQ). It allows the user to adjust five separate frequency bands to set equalisation levels to perfectly match the acoustics of the car. For ease of use, the 5-band GEQ has seven preset equaliser curves, which can be recalled at any time.
