NEW PIONEER CHAMPION SERIES SUBWOOFERS PROVIDE A PURE AND ROCK-SOLID BASS EXPERIENCE
Pioneer’s NEW SUBWOOFERS!
From the Japanese brand that can make 170dB mad SPL vans and are known for their cool woofers since time immemorial, comes a new brace of bass makers. Here’s what Pioneer have to tell you about them.
Pioneer GB introduces its new line-up of Pioneer Champion Series car subwoofers, combining high power output, clean punchy bass and a sharp new cosmetic design. Being the ‘˜Champion Series’, these new subs use technologies derived from Pioneer’s world record-breaking SPL and Competition-grade models and have been designed and built with the same winning mentality. New models include the 30cm TS-W309, TS-W309S4, TS-W309D4 and the 25cm TS-W259S4 and TS-W259D4.
‘Due to space limitations low bass is frequently missing in most car audio systems’ said Tom Van Biervliet, Manager Product Planning Car Audio, Pioneer Europe. ‘However, with our new and improved Champion Series subwoofers we’ve made significant strides in subwoofer development to offer consumers various ways to fill this bass frequency void.’
Budget conscious car enthusiasts looking to add powerful bass to their drive will appreciate the full and robust sound these new Champion Series subwoofers produce. Each new model features a seamless composite IMPP woofer cone that has been enlarged by 14% to generate greater air movement. Together with an improved magnet structure, air vents in the basket under the spider and holes in the aluminium former that both work to reduce the mechanical resistance, this combination of innovations results in a smooth response and clean, solid bass sound.
The subwoofers’ surround is constructed of a sophisticated dual-layer elastic polymer that is much lighter than rubber. This decreases the weight of the moving parts to improve control and speed, whilst guaranteeing high durability.
Additional performance features across the range include:
Integrated one-sided terminals: to allow for greater flexibility and easy installation, all Champion Series speaker terminals have been placed on one side of the subwoofer rather than both sides like conventional subwoofers.
Copper wire voice coil with Aluminium former: the Aluminium used for the former improves heat radiation which eliminates the need for a heavy voice coil, decreasing its weight by 7%. In addition, the holes in the former are there to reduce distortion.
Single or dual voice coil: available in single 4Ohm or dual 4Ohm, the subwoofers offer greater installation flexibility.
Availability
The TS-W309, TS-W309S4, TS-W309D4, TS-W259S4 and TS-W259D4 Pioneer Champion Series car subwoofers will be available as of mid January 2011.
