New Pioneer In-Car Digital Media Centres Offer Compatibility With Smartphones And USB Devices

There are a slew of new headunits out from Pioneer, with the most absurdly cool line up of features at bizarrely low prices to my eyes! The fact is, these heads have been seriously upped in specification, without any hike in price. Read on, the rest is from Pioneer Europe&;
Pioneer introduces two new digital media receivers, designed to provide digital media playback from iPod/iPhone1, selected Android phones2 and USB3 storage devices as the primary sources. Geared for connectivity and convenience, the economically priced MVH-350BT and MVH-150UI are the ultimate in-car entertainment devices for smartphone users whose digital music collection has replaced traditional CDs.
‘As the penetration of digital music continues to rise, consumers look for flexibility to enjoy their collection in the car,’ says Tom Van Biervliet, Product Planning Manager for Car Audio at Pioneer Europe. ‘Our newest in-dash receivers respond to this demand by offering connectivity to the sources which are used the most, like USB storage devices, smartphones, and audio streaming applications.’
With an integrated Parrot Bluetooth4 module, the MVH-350BT provides a safe and stress-free way of making phone calls from behind the wheel. Parrot Bluetooth technology enables hands-free telephony and wireless music streaming from Bluetooth enabled devices. Conversations can be heard through the vehicle’s speakers while the user’s voice is broadcast through the included external microphone, which guarantees optimum speech quality.
Wide connectivity and playback options on both single DIN media receivers allow the user to connect a smartphone, portable MP3 player or USB device, while the units support playback of MP3, WMA and WAV music files. A front USB port makes it easy to connect USB devices while driving, whereas an Aux-in slot offers compatibility with any type of portable audio player, allowing the user to link an audio device to enjoy his selection of tunes.
With iPod and iPhone Direct Control, the user can connect his device straight to the MVH-350BT and MVH-150UI’s front USB terminal and enjoy superior sound. As a handy extra, the iPod or iPhone will charge while connected. New to the MVH range is support for selected Android devices via USB, providing access to all media stored on the mobile device.
A Wired Remote input enables connection from the receiver to the user’s car’s own steering wheel remote control, so you can control the tuner with the steering wheel remote control. The MVH-150UI also features a telephone mute connection which mutes the radio when a telephone is active.
MVH-350BT £79.99 (Car Audio Direct – see below for link)

Both digital media receivers come equipped with many of the same features found in high-end receivers, including high power output with the celebrated MOSFET 50W x 4 amplifier set-up for Pioneer’s renowned powerful sound reproduction, Bass/Mid/Treble control and Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) technology which restores any musical detail lost in the creation of compressed music files. The inclusion of a five-band graphic equaliser provides the ability to adjust the sound of the system to suit the vehicle and listener, while two pre-amp outputs for front, rear, and subwoofer as well as a low-pass/high-pass filter add to the overall car audio system flexibility.
