Newgate Simms’ Magic De-Squeakerator
We care an awful lot about Sound here on Talk Audio. And it is no mistake that the European distributors for the top end sound deadening products from Dynamat are the same people who distribute the legendary JL Audio brand. Their big thing is to state that their product is the cheapest audio upgrade you will ever make. Likewise, there is a term used by the Old Boys to describe the acoustic experience of the interior of say a Bentley motorcar. They call it ‘splendid isolation’.
And again relatively recently, I was at Oxford Car Audio, when they had BMW in, solely for the purpose of adding sound deadening because the owner had become sick of the old girl’s creaky frame.
And in our audio world, both the bass heads and the SQ fairies alike, swear by a bit of acoustic treatment of their ride.
But what if you have spent serious money on a luxury car and it SQUEAKS? I am lucky enough to have just got a pretty much brand-new car myself and still boggle at how I can whisper quietly to my poor long-suffering wife at motorway speeds. ‘And they pay him for it. We get it for free, unfortunately..’ is a quote by her and in my forum post ‘˜sig’ after all!
I am not even going to identify the car in this video, but suffice it to say, but if you have spent (in this case thrice what I did) that sort of money, then you can expect attention to detail. And that definitely includes splendid isolation.
Newgate Simms are high-tech materials scientists, or at least employ them – and chemists too! Their Products are often used by clients that do not want the likes of me to talk about it because it is sensitive proprietary engineering stuff! Anyway enough of me, check out this serious anti-squeak geek video below!
I have also popped it onto Talk Audio TV to make it easier to find in future to show your geeky chums. I love this, personally! Link
