Oxford Car Audio Rocked The ‘˜Jam
At any given time in UK car audio history there are legendary installers. Ones who are just sublime in the beauty and accuracy of their work. Installs that look as though massive vacuum forming machines have been used where hand-leathering has been done. Work so gorgeous that the likes of Alpine Electronics want to use them for their corporate demo cars.
In the past we had Robert Prince Vs Bob Hobson at the dawn of UK ice competition. Bob still installs award winning massive cinema systems in wealthy folks’ homes but Robert was taken from us too early, some years back. His memory lives on Names like Phil Leach and Paul Richardson come to mind and right now, with the installer of the year awards in the offing at the Mobile Electronics News awards night, my vote went to LEM, the dude at the newly fettled Oxford Car Audio. Indeed, it is his work that Alpine seek when they want a new demo car and I can reveal that he and his are commissioned to do another one after the superb work they did in the now MirrorLink equipped Passat of Alpine’s Atsuhiro Takeda.

Anyway, after a long time in the developing and building of this massive project Beetle, the fabulous install you see before you was taken, along with pretty much the whole shop, along to Santa Pod for the very particular event that is Bug Jam. Strictly for VW people, so the Alpine Passat fit in nicely and was the flank car on a double tented stand that pretty much had the OCA shop moved onto tarmac for the day. It was an epic effort but it really put them on the map for the VW crowd. We saw the amazing thing they had done and figured you needed to see this!
Not as bonkers as what FOUR do at shows but they have three or more dealerships as well as their friends gang up on the task. This was Herculean! Well done lads and here’s to success in the future.
