June: Digital Radio Campaign
The next phase of the industry communications campaign started this week with SIX new radio ads featuring D Love celebrating the ‘sweet sweet sounds of summer’ which run until the end of the month – listen to the ads here link
Two of the executions focus on the great value of digital radio (‘Box of Joy’ and ‘Sweet Smell’) and two feature Fathers’ Day messages (Fathers’ Day is on 16 June).
Cars are also a big focus with two ads (‘Hit the Road’ and ‘I Love’) running throughout the campaign.
The campaign will run across commercial radio stations including Global, Bauer, Real and Smooth, Absolute Radio and many digital-only stations.
We are also supplying digital radio guides to retailers including John Lewis.

July/August:
Phase two of the summer digital radio campaign will feature D Love on BBC TV and radio trails and commercial radio ads in July/August.
D Love will be encouraging advocates of digital radio to share their love for digital radio with their friends. We will let you know further details nearer the time.
D Love has also been nominated for the Marketing Award at the prestigious Arqiva Commercial Radio awards: we will hear more on 3rd July.
Digital Radio Action Plan
Government continues to work towards a switchover decision later this year. In the meantime we are engaging with Parliamentarians to provide them with information and updates over the summer.
Coverage continues to be built out over the summer with mux launches and boosts taking place, including in Yorkshire, Northern Ireland and Gloucestershire.
Next week Government is planning to publish its report on the Go Digital pilot in Bath which confirms that listeners are highly satisfied with digital radio, the choice of stations, sound quality and ease of use, and would strongly recommend it to others.
There were some other businessy bits but it’s all gripping stuff and points to the inevitability and why you should get a digital radio for YOUR car for the summer!
