Voice guidance provides route instructions and applies Text-to-Speech (TTS) functionality to safely relay traffic information – informing you of events based on TMC bulletins – and suggest new routes. At the heart of the NavGate AVIC-F9110BT is a powerful processor which enables navigation and entertainment features to be used simultaneously. Video can be watched on the high-performance WVGA screen (from compressed formats such as MPEG 4 and DivX), loaded on to SD cards, USB devices, DVD and CD, which can also relay your tunes in any format you prefer be it MP3, WAV or AAC. Using an optional iPod/iPhone cable you can directly connect with the unit to provide control over key menu functions and as you’d expect from Pioneer, audio quality is supreme. Sound is delivered to your speakers through Pioneer’s highly regarded 50Wx4W MOSFET amplifier and can be refined through a 3-band Parametric Equalizer. Audiophiles can also create their ideal sound stage with 3 RCA outs (front, rear and sub-woofer) to connect additional amplifiers, speakers and sub-woofers.
As well as delivering great Pioneer audio, your car’s speakers will relay phone conversations with the NavGate AVIC-F9110BT including the latest Parrot Bluetooth wireless telephony module. This convenient feature means you can leave your phone anywhere in the vehicle or in your pocket, and all your contacts are available to browse and call.
You can personalize your system using Pioneer’s on line NavGate Feeds application. Highlights of features (enabled through SD/USB connectivity) include the ability to add POIs using Google MapsTM/sup, and track and analyze journeys (useful for expenses) through the Drive Report function. Also, an Eco Report is available to provide an evaluation of driving styles and driving performance – with graphics on your PC presenting data such as fuel used – to adjust driving styles to improve your fuel consumption.

The AVIC-F9110BT will be available from July 2009 as an option on 18 VW, Skoda and Seat vehicles. It can also be easily installed with straight cable-to-cable replacement of the original headunit.
