Presenterbloke Cracks Three Million!
If you are a regular reader, then with luck, you will also be a regular viewer of mine. For my YouTube channel, called Presenterbloke (thought I was very lucky to get away with having that one!) was set up way back in 2007 and has been growing purely organically ever since. I am not too focussed on monetising it all, being a ‘YouTube Partner’ as such, thus it took a year or two before I finally pressed all the right buttons and became a YouTube advert thingummy-do. You read about Youtubers making a whole living out of making TV. In particular, Steve Meade, who does his thing and was able to give up the day job as a roofer, for making car audio crazyness. His views top 170 million.
A while back, my carefully made clip about a USB device went viral and has gone a bit silly. I mean, me at my desk, with the thing and rising towards a million views on its own!
Anyway, today, I did go to look at the channel’s analytics and read about a beta thing they are doing with ‘cards’ on videos. And as well as asking Sam Watt, of SWATT Design, to make me a watermark, according to the best advice of the ‘Tube, I figured I could brag that I had got to nearly three million views overall, here, as a newsy stab.
Then, I had a phone call come in, I went to another window, I arsed around on Facebook for ten minutes that could have been just two (had I only done work-related stuff) and had I not spotted another post shared by our publisher, which are always killer… I came back to the page to nick a screenshot – absurdly easy on a Mac – and refreshed it.
And in that few minutes, I must have had some sort of surge, for I have five thousand more views crammed in and it has soared past three million today. I am flabbergasted and chuffed.
Thankyou YouTube!
