Reference Series P1 Amps – new from Elipson

Elipson are pleased to announce their new Reference Series P1 Pre-amplifier and A2700 Power amplifier are now shipping. Following a highly successful launch at Munich High End show in May and building on over 80 years’ experience in the audio industry with design by Elipson’s highly skilled R&D team, these stylish amplifiers are sure to appeal to the knowledgeable audiophile seeking the best from their music source. Manufactured in Elipson’s state of the art facility in Burgundy, the Reference Series P1 reflects a dedication to the highest levels of music playback.

The essential development start point for the Reference Series P1 Pre-amplifier was ensuring the maintenance of signal quality by reducing background noise wherever possible, therefore the P1 is a completely balanced design with physical separation of channels. The P1 features a bespoke power supply with an extremely high switching frequency. This power supply is focussed on powering the digital sections of the unit such as the microcontroller, the OLED display and the source switching relays.

In addition, the supply feeds a purely sinusoidal (self-oscillating) DC-DC converter. This converter, followed by very low noise regulators, feeds all the analogue sections of the P1. The absence of spectral lines at 100Hz and all its harmonics when combined with high-power supply noise rejection of the analogue circuits used, means that the smallest details of the music signal are not masked by ‘noise’ from the power supply.

The Pre-amplifier is modular in design and is available as a standard, all analogue unit, known as the Reference Series P1.

Designed to be as future proof as possible the customer can add a high-quality MM/MC phono stage and a DAC module featuring an EES Sabre DAC with USB, SPDIF and Optical connectivity. Alternatively the Pre-amplifier can be purchased ‘fully loaded’ as the P1F.

The new Reference series P1 A2700 from Elipson

The Elipson A2700 Power amplifier is designed to integrate seamlessly with the P1. As with its stable mate complete focus is on noise reduction to maintain the highest possible signal quality. Utilising state of the art Class D technology means the A2700 has prodigious power with a wide dynamic range and ultra-low Total
Harmonic Distortion. High voltage power supply lines bring stunning control and very high-speed translation of dynamic peaks and drops, giving superfast response and avoidance of clipping. Power output of 400W into 8 ohms is just the start for this amplifier meaning it is more than capable of driving efficiently even the toughest of loudspeakers.

To keep all of this power focussed on the music the A2700 features a proprietary cooling concept meaning there is no chance of thermal runaway, under any load. For those considering the A2700 as a premium HiFi solution in a dedicated custom installation environment, there are mounting brackets for a 2U install available. Before dispatch each and every unit is tested on a quality control bench using AudioPrecision. This information is retained but is also available to the end-user on request.

Aesthetically this amplifier duo is designed to be elegant with just a touch of French flair. They form a homogenous unit with wonderful clean lines when paired together, and are finished in Anthracite Grey.
