Sonus Faber OLYMPICA Nova loudspeakers

No loudspeaker maker offers a more elegant embodiment of aspirational audio design than Sonus faber. Hailing from Vicenza, Italy, this was the first company to make speakers with smoothly curved wood cabinets rather than dull, slab-sided boxes, embellished by luxury touches such as soft Italian leather. Its impeccable craftsmanship is second to none, matched only by its speakers’ exquisitely detailed sound.

Here is a video all about them…

Replacing the existing Olympica loudspeakers, the new Olympica Nova collection takes the sonic art of Sonus faber to new heights. The speakers’ cabinets are made from eight layers of curved wood, fashioned into a striking asymmetric shape. Drive units of uncompromising quality, including Sonus faber’s Damped Apex Dome tweeter, combine seamlessly thanks to Paracross Topology crossovers, augmented by the Stealth Ultraflex port system that extends down the speakers’ spine.

The Olympica Nova collection epitomises classic Italian craftsmanship fused with leading-edge acoustic engineering – a perfect marriage of form and function, culminating in speakers as effortlessly pleasing to the eye as they are to the ear. The collection begins shipping this month with the standmount Olympica Nova I and floorstanding Olympica Nova II, III and V. Two home cinema centre speakers – Olympica Nova Center I and Center II – and the Olympica Nova Wall for on-wall siting will follow in October. All are available in a choice of Walnut or Wenge.
