Talk Audio & ALPINE: Changing Ashley Booth’s Life!
Regular readers will recall the story below. Indeed, it is still on the page as I write, for each new story ladders the rest down one, with the last ten showing at any one time. It was about a job that can change a life at a really cool employer. Alpine. I said that we have never run much in the way of job adverts but that this was s a corker.
As was THIS JOB:
I heard about it directly from my chums in management at Alpine. First, there was the general thing that’s wanted, followed by the formal job specification/requirements.
The prospect needed to be able to get a grip of stuff like THIS:
And the Guv’Nor had said ‘We do need a decent tech bod.
Understanding of installation, system building, integration with OEM, phone connectivity, using portable devices as audio source etcetera.
We get loads of tech queries about compatibility issues with Bluetooth, software upgrades and similar. So an understanding of these issues and using a PC/laptop in conjunction with car audio products is an advantage.
The job will also include placing orders for dealers, stock enquiries, etc, as it’s a dual role. This can be trained of course, but it is quite an important part of the job.
Needs to be within sane range of Coventry, as this is what finally did for Ross. He was not getting any family time, sadly.
We have no age preference but an ability to soak up new stuff is essential. We prefer a keen and enthusiastic person with plenty of maturity and common sense, plus the ability to deal with unhappy or very demanding customers, without telling them where to go!’
And within seconds of putting it on Facebook as well as the Talk Audio front page here, Ashley Booth was after it like a Chub fish after a slug that goes plop in the river! He was keen, in like Flynn and applied with great alacrity. I know there were seven applicants and yet as the one I knew, I admit I was rootin for him but NEVER got a single word or chance to roll up a trouser leg and shake hands. Ash was all but delirious for wanting this joband I can tell you with the deepest Svengali-esque delight, that he got it!

Enough said, I am sure you guys will all join in with me in wishing the man every success in his new world as I write, this is a scoop and I don’t even KNOW if he has told his current employers. Yet at the risk of busting the news, I am just too excited and happy for him not to show off.
Talk Audio can change your life! Well, Ash did that really, all on his own but I think we proved we have the reach! I do know of man-in-van corporate installation jobs going, in the industry if you are keen and don’t get the trade press, by the way..
