Talk Audio – I.C.E. Installs, Community, Entertainment
It was a hectic week and a bonkers weekend just gone, with the dB Drag guys at the GTi International show and of course Glastonbury eating a moderator or two and by no means least, a two-day EMMA event held at the Car Audio Security premises in Hayes. Amazingly the whole thing had to go from a one dayer to a full weekend job after Jez’s Team Highdown signed up cars in double figures.
I went along not to report on the event per se (although I did get to hear Lee Thomas’ new SQ install with Audio Wave amplifiers, which was gorgeous) but more to review the DLS Summer Performance Package car installed by Highdown for one of their Honeyz as they call the lasses who are the team’s promo girls. Unable to attend in person as she was taking part in a crucial Petanque match which she plays at National Level. I guess it’s what comes of living on the south coast so close to French influence N’est pas?
Anyway, after being extricated from the Bermuda Triangle, the Guv’Nor was back and working like an ant and so we got pretty much everything up in time. All that remains to put up is a not-so time sensitive story about the Clarion Scooby estate that could do 156dB from 12 twelves mounted in an isobaric wall! Sounds bonkers to see the Clarion brand associated with SPL as against style SQ and ce-Net multimedia cleverness? It was deliciously mad and with luck you’ll be seeing that soon. I was just waiting to get the right file to publish the sweet circuit layout that they had displayed on the car. I did nick the laminate from the car (with permission) which had miniature tile size pictures of the subs and amps and so forth but want to publish the best version I can.
The video pane is overdue a change, too so I’ll go get on the camera to get one done on the terribly pretty Alpine SBE-1243BR bass enclosure as a still simply doesn’t do it justice.
Enjoy the windows-down weather and sing loudly to your tunes.
I do, badly…..
